Project Description

Port Qasim Authority intends to acquire Engineering Consulting Services for planning & design of access road & storm water drains around the periphery of planned blocks in the Eastern Zone. The Eastern Zone is Spread over an area about 8000 acres and divided into various land lots of different sizes earmarked for different types of port related industrial & commercial activities. PQA is committed to provide infrastructure facilities such as access road, water supply, sewerage system & the storm water drainage system. Also provide appropriate corridors for ROWs for laying of product & utility lines, i.e. Industrial effluent, electricity, gas & telecommunications, etc. The Scope of Services in this Contract has however been the Design of External Roads & Drains around the Planned Blocks of the Zone.

Services

Part-I

• Detailed survey of the site, including topographic survey

• Review the existing, way leaves planning and suggesting most appropriate right of way plan, keeping in view traffic forecast and management, utility requirement, environment and other relevant parameters and the trend worldwide and in compliance of relevant codes and standards

• Geotechnical, Material and other investigation, which may be necessary for the befitting accomplishment of assignment professionally

• Preparation of Design criteria for approval of PQA

• Preparation of preliminary design and drawings for approval of PQA

• Preparation of PC-I and assistance in seeking approvals from different forums

• Preparation of final design

• Presentation of PQA officers and Board for seeking approval / clearance incorporating any suggestion

• Preparation of tender documents of various packages of contracts of up to Rs. 40 million, consisting of general condition of contract, special provisions, special stipulations, Technical specification, bill of quantities and drawings for the floating of tender

• Preparation of detailed engineering cost estimates

Part-II

The consultants shall carry out following assignments:

• Assisting PQA in floating of tender

• Evaluation of Bids and preparation of bid evaluation report for award of works

• Assisting PQA in award of work

• Preparation of detailed construction drawings required for excavation of work, joint survey and resolution of any disputes, preparation V.O. if necessary

• Top supervision and detailed supervision of the construction work
