Project Description

The earthquake of 5th October 2005 destroyed most of the available infrastructure in parts of NWFP and AJK, Which also included a large number of schools and health facilities. After the occurrence of the earthquake, several agencies conducted various studies and investigations. ERRA (earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority) conducted a detailed investigation of the area to establish Seismic Zoning for the entire region. Various agencies had come forward and pledged large amounts and funds for reconstruction of the destroyed Infrastructure. UNICEF has played its role by hiring consultants for planning, design and managing the reconstruction of schools and Health facilities in NWFP & AJK. The idea is to design and construct Earthquake Resistant Structures safe for the community and users. For this purpose, Engineering Consultants International (Pvt) Limited (ECIL) had been selected as the Consultants. 

The Project consists of one OPD Block with complete health care equipments i.e. Operation Theater, Labour Room, Observation Facilities etc. and Furniture, Residential Building for Medical Staff. The facility in question is fully capable to provide health care facilities to the surrounding community living in the vicinity.
